
On 14 and 15 of August strong Typhoon Lan made a landfall in Japan, crossing through the country, causing flash flooding, rivers to overflow, damaging many properties, power blackouts, while hundreds of flights had been canceled. A tornado also hit Shizuoka Prefecture, in Japan, and injured a person. Typhoon Lan was accompanied by heavy rain and sustainable winds of 150-160km/h.
Today Lan was downgraded to an extratropical cyclone and is affecting the island Sakhalin as well as other notheasteastern Russia’s islands. Lan is expected to be downgraded more tomorrow.
