Low pressure systems from the Atlantic Ocean along with cold air masses above Scandinavia will influence during the next few days much of Europe bringing rain, wintry showers and snow.
On Tuesday and Wednesday a low pressure system from the UK will head eastwards/northeastwards bringing wetter weather in much of Europe. Wintry showers or snow is expected in central, northeastern, northern Europe and the Alps as well as in parts of the northern Balkans especially during the night. The risk for snow heavy in places is possible between Tuesday night and Wednesday in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Belarus and the Baltic states as the low pressure system is passing through with a center near to 960 mb. Rain or showers are expected elsewhere, while drier will be in Iberia.
On Thursday and Friday the low pressure system over Scandinavia will continue bringing wintry showers or snow across the northern countries of Europe, while another Atlantic low pressure system will head eastwards/southeastwards towards central and southeastern Europe spreading wintry showers, snow over the Alps and even in low-mid level above ground locally in France, northern Italy, Hungary and the northern Balkans. Rain and heavy showers are also expected in Italy and the Balkans and local showers in Spain and Portugal.
Significant temperature drop and frost is expected during the next few days in much of Europe which will be more intense in northern, central and eastern Europe where minimum temperatures will not be over 0°C in many cities, while the maximum will not be over 0°C-5°C in many cities. In more detail, the maximum temperature on Friday in Stockholm will be -5°C, in the Baltic states 0-2°C, in Copenhagen 1°C, in Berlin, Prague and Budapest 2°C and in Milan 5-6°C.
